Pet Paw'Loosa!!! Part 2!!!

Hello again. It's me...Fred.

I wentIwentIwent!!! To the Pet Paw'Loosa!!!

It was so much fun. They had lots of puppies walking around...

storytelling...I loves Mrs. Windham. She tells lots of funny puppy (and other) stories on Fridays where Mr. Jason works.

an obstacle course, which I didn't get to go on (no thanks to Old Girl)...

and a costume contest, which we was late for (again, thanks, Old Girl). That was just as well, though, because Old Girl and I for sure would have won with our matching "skull" attire. I had my skull tee-shirt, which I loves because in it I is bad to the fluff. And she had on her skull head-band-thingy.

Anyways, it was lots and lots and lots of fun. And I wish they had one of these things every single weekend, especially because it's for a good cause!
And I 'pologize for these fuzzy pictures. Old Girl said for one thing it was real bright outside and hard to see the screeny-thing on her camera/telly-phone. And she said for another thing it was hard to get me to be still! heehee That part might be true.

I is real sleepy from all the exerting of meself, so I'll tell you more stories next time.

Reasons Why I Cannot Be a Therapy Dog

Hello again. It's me...Fred.

I has found out about the most wonderful organization where puppies goes and helps the older folks be happy. It's called Therapy Dog, and my Old Girl and I was real eager to join up.

Except now I can't.

Cause I is not what you might call...polite. I is real affectionate instead!

Here is the tests and some of the ways I do and do not comply.

Test 1: Accepting a friendly stranger--ooh, see, I is OK here because I never meet a stranger.

Test 2: Sitting politely for petting--ok, here is where I start to have questions. I loves the petting part, but does bouncing and licking count as sitting politely?

Test 3: Appearance and grooming--I do ok for this too, even though going to the beauty shop is not my favorite thing.

Test 4: Out for a walk--I loves to go for walks!

Test 5: Walking through a crowd. Here is the problem. I is not supposed to appear "overexuberant" or "straining at the leash," which is just something I cannot control. Because I gets real excited about walking and about crowds!

Test 6: Sit, Stay, Down on command--I can do this, but only for food...and only when other peoples aren't really around, which kind of defeats the purpose in Old Girl's mind.

Test 7: Coming when called--ooh, I do this whenever I feel like it!

Test 8: Reaction to another dog--ooh, see, I loveslovesloves other puppies! I get real excited just seeing them on the telly-vision! But I is supposed to be polite and casual. What?! This is where Fred started realizing his future is not as a therapy dog.

Test 9: Reactions to distractions--oh, I'd just rather not talk about this one...because I'm looking out the window at a raccoon.

Test 10: Supervised separation--I has a real problem with separation anxiety when it comes to my Old Girl. I miss her very much, even when I is hanging out with Mr. Jason. I cry when she leaves me with someone else.

OK, so, see, I obviously cannot do this wonderful work. But if you are a puppy (or have a puppy) who is polite and can pass these tests with flying colors, please help out the older folks! Make them happier!

My Very Own Book Review

Hello again. It's me...Fred.

My Old Girl just finished reading a book (what else is new), and she liked it so much she asked me to tell you all about it! Which I'm going to, but in my very own way.

Anyways, this book was called...let me get it just right...The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by a fellow named Mark Haddon. Now, the first thing you should know is that this book is not like Boomer's Big Day or Stanley's Party. This book don't have no pictures, just a few math-ee-matical type drawings.

But don't let that scare you! Because I can't even count, but it's still a pretty good story.

In the beginning (I'm not giving anything away because this happens on the first page), a very sad thing happens. A puppy named Wellington dies (sniff). And the whole book is about a boy who is very smart but a little curious (meaning both inquisitive and strange) trying to find out who hurt that poor, poor puppy.

My only complaints is that there is not more said about Wellington before his untimely demise. And the other complaints is that puppies all over England (where this book all happens) do not rise up and take revenge! (I hope I didn't give away too much of the story).

Anyways, I think it's still a lovely little book, at least that's what my Old Girl said, and it won some award.

Yawn...all this reading has made me sleepy! heehee

Eyeballs and Such

Hello again. It's me...Fred.

I has some real big news. The news is that I spended the night by myself--for the very first time!

Oh, my. It was real exciting. Here's how it all happened.

First of all, Mr. Jason...his eyeball popped right out of his head! Or something like that. You know how I don't keep up with the latest things.

Anyways, Mr. Jason and my Old Girl, they had to go and have his eyeball put back in (or something like that). It turned out to be a big, long process, and my Old Girl had to leave Fred alone.

ALL
NIGHT
LONG

Oh, my. It was real exciting.

At first, I is thinking she would come back for Fred, just real late like. But then, time kept on passing and passing, and, since I can't tell time, it seemed like a real long time!

So then I busted out of me area and snuggled down on the couch (and pee-peed in the floor) cause I was real nervous.

But then Old Girl and Mr. Jason camed home!

And here's the good news. Mr. Jason's eyeball is in place, but he still has to stay home all week long...with Fred...where I can take good care of him and give him sugar...right in the eyeball. heehee

Vacation!

Hello again. It's me...Fred.

I is real sleepy because I has just returned from my vacation at my Grandpa's house! (All I ever wanted...vacation...had to get away...)

Anyways, I had a lovely time. For more details, you can read my Old Girl's blog. I is too sleepy to write all about it. This is me snuggling with Grandpa right before I went to sleep.

I do want to say that I has never met chill-ren with so much ener-gee. My cousins can play and play all day long. We played hide and seek (although I mostly just looked for flowers to water).

We jumped on the tramp-o-line, where my Old Girl tried to take my picture, and I got real mad. Then I felt like I was going to upchuck, so I jumped right off that tramp-o-line!

We read books and watched the telly-vision, where they like somebody named Sponge-Bob. I don't keep up with the latest things.

And we had some dee-licious food that Old Girl don't let me eat much of at home! Oh, this was the most fun, I think.

But now I is home, and I have to catch up on sleeping, so I can build up my own ener-gee.
Yawn...

Work Days and Week's End Days

Hello again. It's me...Fred.

I have some good news! The fun-drive is all finished at
where Mr. Jason works! Yippee! That means Old Girl is home with Fred a little longer in the early mornings.

Speaking of those times, I learned how to tell which day is which...kinda. On the days Mr. Jason and Old Girl go to work, they wakes up Fred with their clangy noise-makers and carrying on. But on the other days, I think they call them week's end days, Fred gets to wake them up instead!

Oh, that is fun. Let me tell you.

First, when I wake up, I look around and think about whether it is the middle of the night and I want a snack or if it is time to get up and go for a walk. I can tell by how dark it is out the window.

If it is time to get up, I pounce on Old Girl, who does not seem to like that very much. She tries to get Fred to snuggle, and usually I is real snuggly...but just for a minute. Then I says "No! It is time for our walk! Let'sgolet'sgolet'sgo" is what I says. Then I jump on and off the bed over and over until Old Girl gets up and takes me for a walk, which is almost my most-favorite thing, next to treats, I think.

Anyway, so that's how I learned to tell which day is which...kinda.

Also, I want to say "hello" to my Aunt Tiffany and Bella. I is looking forward to seeing you next week and wishing you a "get well" in person!
